Abbas Alli Jazza is a cultural entrepreneur and the founder of the Singeli Movement, which supports and promotes Singeli artists from marginalized communities in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Known for his work with Nyege Nyege, where he served as A&R, Abbas has been instrumental in taking singeli artists to the global stage. In 2024 he launched the Singeli Residency Project, a six-month mentorship program sponsored by Alliance Française Dar es Salaam, which helped aspiring artists gain industry connections and launch their music careers. Through his efforts, Abbas continues to empower Singeli artists and elevate the genre on the global stage. He now handles booking and management for 15 artists and serves as an adviser to two studios. His next plan is to launch a label and raise more funds to continue to build up the music industry in his home country of Tanzania.
